Baptism is an outward expression of an inward commitment. When followers of Jesus are baptized, they are submerged under water to identify with the death and burial of Jesus and raised out of the water to identify with His resurrection. Baptism itself does not make us a believer in Christ, but rather it’s a way of saying to the world that our relationship with Jesus, and our faith in Him, has already begun. In other words, Baptism is going public with your faith. (Romans 6:1-4)
